But let's start with something far more fundamental: values.

When we set out to build this company, we had a few core principles in mind.


For those of you who've watched the Netflix series Dirty Money, you may be familiar with a character named Scott Tucker:

Scott Tucker did a lot of bad things that ultimately resulted in financial ruin and a 16 year federal prison sentence. But stepping back from the details of his crimes, his original sin was deception.

Arguably the worst of his offenses was burying exorbitant fees in the fine print and surprising his customers with hundreds of dollars in charges that didn't count towards their loan principal at all.

With us, you know exactly how much you owe and when.  There are no surprises about your loan because we do everything we can to educate you up front.


Another problem we face as a society is the cycle of debt.  It goes something like this:

  1. Your car breaks down
  2. You take out a loan to fix it
  3. Somewhere along the way, you realize you couldn't afford the loan
  4. And now you have to take out another to pay down the first

For far too many people, this is a cycle that leads straight to bankruptcy.

We realized early on that the best thing we can do for a customer is to only give them a loan they can actually afford.

Our technology is able to analyze your bank account and tell us how much and when you get paid. This lets us understand your financial situation and calibrate your loan to give you the best possible chance to make your payments.

That being said, sometimes it also means offering a smaller loan than the competition. And sometimes it means not offering a loan at all.

Bottom line, we're trying to do the best thing we can for you.
